Tattoo Design

The calligraphic design of this tattoo is based on the European letters known as gothic fraktur - from Germany-, however, it was drawn with more gestural lines to adapt it to a contemporary design.

The tattoo is a phrase from the Greek philosopher and father of medicine Hippocrates that reads "Ars Longa, Vita Brevis" - which can be interpreted as "skilfulness takes time and life is short", and it is tattoed on my right wrist.

After the calligraphic design, it was vectorized and digitized, and turned into a texture that was selected to appear in the Typism 5 book in 2019.
