Naufragia

Naufragia is a display typeface inspired by European Gothic letterforms, designed primarily for use in headers and titles. The family includes over 300 glyphs and supports multiple languages, including Spanish, English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, and more.

The project began as a logo proposal for a craft beer brand named “Náufragos.” The lettering concept evolved into a full typeface after I decided to expand on its expressive potential. The name and style variations are linked to nautical themes — with each weight evoking a different depth of the sea: Naufragia Foam (light), Naufragia Sea (regular), and Naufragia Deep (bold).

This was my first complete type design, and it became a deep technical and creative learning process. All characters were drawn in Adobe Illustrator, and the typeface was programmed using Glyphs, where I handled kerning, spacing, and multilingual support.

Naufragia is still a work in progress and will be released for free use once finalized.
